Story from Jam Press (Snake Kills Dog) Pictured: Video grab of the anaconda squeezing pet dog to death. VIDEO: Anaconda squeezes pet dog to death in stream A pet dog met a grisly end when a huge anaconda coiled itself around it and squeezed it to death. A bystander could watch on in horror as the helpless pooch was crushed by the snake - also known as a water boa - at a popular leisure spot. The distressed dog kicks its hind legs and thrashes its tail as the powerful reptile holds it underwater. The pooch goes limp as the grim 18-second footage ends. The attack took place on the banks of the Cachoeirinha do Coqueiro stream in Fernandópolis, Brazil. The area is popular with nature enthusiasts, cyclists, and families with kids. According to reports, the green or common anaconda emerged from nowhere, grabbed the pooch, and pulled it underwater as it paddled. The terrifying scenes caused adults and kids nearby to fly into a panic. The deceased dog’s owner said it was the second pet she’d lost to a water boa in the area, according to local media. The common or green anaconda is the largest, heaviest, and second-longest snake in the world, after the reticulated python. It floats underwater and can swim fast. It is non-venomous and kills large animals by coiling around their bodies, crushing their bones, and suffocating them. It consumes almost anything it can overpower.
