A lucky dog has been reunited with its owner after surviving being trapped in a stolen car for several days.
The pooch was found laying across the back seats.
Despite being stuck for a “number of days”, the brown and black border terrier miraculously survived.
It was given food, water and a walk around the park before being returned to its owner.
Cops in Southampton city centre received reports of a dog inside the suspicious vehicle.
The motor was suspected to be stolen.
It had been parked up with the dog inside for days.
The owner was over the moon to be reunited with their dog following the rescue yesterday (16 Jul).

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers received reports of a suspicious vehicle parked on our patch containing a dog locked inside.
”The informant also suspected that the vehicle was stolen and had been parked for a number of days.
“Officers quickly attended this vehicle and upon investigation, the dog was seen laying across the back seats.
”After some checks, we managed to contact the owner where two Bargate officers then drove to reunite them.
”The vehicle was later recovered.
“The dog was given a good walk around the park, fed, given water and received lots of love from the Bargate neighbourhoods team.”
Locals praised officers for their work.
Martin Aylett said: “Stealing the car is one thing.
”Taking it with the dog is a totally different thing.”
He added: “If we never had the bad weather, that little muttley would be dead.
”Thanks to the coppers for doing something about it.”
Donna Parrott said: “Well done guys, I’m sure the poor little dog was chuffed to see you.”
”Poor little dog, glad he is okay,” said Valerie Anderson.
