The woman who took her dead ‘uncle’ to a bank to get a loan brought him there by taxi.

CCTV footage has emerged of Érika de Souza Vieira Nunes getting the rideshare car to the branch.

The driver had to help get Paulo Roberto Braga out of the front passenger seat and into a wheelchair.

Nunes insists she didn’t know her elderly relative was dead when she took him to the bank.

The newly-surfaced footage was taken in a car park near the bank shortly after 1pm on Tuesday (16 Apr).

It shows how she struggled to get Paulo out of the cab.

The forensic pathologist who performed the post-mortem examination says Braga, 68, likely died between 11:30am and 2:30pm that day.

But he cannot say with certainty if he died en route to the bank in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nunes is accused of attempted theft by way of fraud and desecration of a corpse.

A bank clerk filmed her in the branch as she tried to get her unresponsive uncle to sign some papers in a bid to take out a 17,000-BRL (£2,600) loan.

Her lawyer is claiming she has mental health problems and might have been having a breakdown.

Ana Carla de Souza Correa said: “Érika undergoes psychological treatment and takes prescribed medications.

“I believe she was having a breakdown at that moment because of the medications.

“She appeared visibly disturbed.”

Braga’s cause of death was given as respiratory aspiration of stomach contents and heart failure.

It’s believed he was previously ill, as reported on Need to Know.

Results from toxicity tests, to determine if he was drugged, are still pending.

Police chief Fábio Luis says the way his blood had accumulated within his vessels suggests that Braga did not die seated but rather lying down.

Another newly-surfaced CCTV clip shows how she took her uncle to an emergency care unit on Monday (15 Apr) night.

Braga was clearly alive at the time.

The rideshare driver has been questioned by the police.
