Promoted Chesterfield have been mocked for a bleak-looking hospitality meal.

The club has just been promoted to League Two from the National League.

At their final game of the season they served up the food to VIPs for £55-a-head.

But the hospitality grub at the SMH Group Stadium left one supporter unhappy, as reported by Need To Know.

The food was spread out on the big plate and it was missing one item.

The menu states that guests were treated to a “French trimmed lamb rack, butcher’s Cumberland sausage and a honey glazed bacon lion.”

But it was supposed to end ‘loin’.

It was then “seasoned with tomato, cheese and spring onion croquette and garlic flat cap mushroom.”

One supporter received sausage, a mushroom, a tomato, a croquette potato and a rather underdone looking bacon loin, with no sign of the lamb rack.

Sean Cummins stated: “Pre-match meal in hospitality at Chesterfield FC.“’Bacon lion’.

“Factoring in the match ticket that slap up meal works out at about 35 quid.”

Chesterfield beat Maidenhead United in a thrilling 3-2 on Saturday (20 Apr).

The National League side had already confirmed their return to the EFL after sealing promotion from their current division after beating Boreham Wood 3-0 last month.

Despite the cause for huge celebrations fans were shocked that the club had served up these meals to supporters.

Andrew Davison stated: “This is like depression encapsulated in a single picture.”

Meath Birder said: “I’ll go out on a limb here and say, even if the lamb had put in appearance, it wasn’t saving that dish.”

Chesterfield has been approached for comment.
