A lucky woman has miraculously made a full recovery after an 82ft plunge down a waterfall.

Photographer Estefanía Gudiño was working on a photoshoot when she fainted, slipped on wet rocks and fell down the cascade.

A man at the scene saved her from drowning by pulling her from the pool at the bottom of the rapids.

Others gave her first aid as they waited for help to arrive, as reported on Need To Know.

Bloodied Estefanía, 25, was taken to hospital in Villa Carlos Paz, Argentina following the accident on 23 March.

Medics diagnosed her with a skull injury and a fractured radius.

She received 13 stitches to her head and had a prosthesis placed in her right wrist joint.

Doctors feared the worst as she lay in a hospital bed intubated and unconscious.

She said: “The doctors thought I might die.”

Now, more than three months after the horror fall, Gudiño has made a near-full recovery.

To complete her rehabilitation, all she must do is keep attending physio sessions for her hand.

Gudiño told local media: “I was admitted to intensive care on Saturday afternoon.

“By Sunday morning I didn’t know who I was, why I was in hospital, or who my family members around me were.

“The doctors told my parents that it was likely I would spend several days without recognising anyone due to the blow.

“But by Monday when I woke up, I remembered everything.

“Not even the neurologist could believe how quickly I recovered.

“That’s why I say it was a miracle.

“I was on the brink of death and 10 days later I was discharged.”

After her release from hospital, all Gudiño’s tests came back perfect.

Her neurologist was baffled.

She said: “He told me, ‘It’s as if you never fell from 25 metres, you were lucky.’”

Gudiño still has no idea what caused her to faint at the waterfall located in Copina.

She is still in touch with the good Samaritans who helped save her life that day.

She said: “Now, the seven of us are a family.”
