A yacht has run aground on a Cornish beach after a skipper reportedly took a “wrong turn”.
The incident took place on Polzeath beach in Padstow, Cornwall, on Tuesday (29 October).
“We arrived on scene to find a large yacht that had run aground in the surf,” said a spokesperson for Polzeath Coastguard.

“Three team members donned dry suits and entered the water to assist the captain.

“Both lifeboats provided safety cover just beyond the surf.
“Coastguard officers carried out crowd control and kept members of the public at a safe distance.”

The skipper reportedly waded back to shore, as reported by Need To Know.
A local named Bill Bartlett told Cornwall Live that he heard the skipper say he had taken a wrong turn.
