The moment a Ferrari was pulled from an estuary after a drunk driver crashed and attempted to flee the scene has been shared by police.
The Ferrari Portofino, named after a beautiful coastal town located on the Italian Riviera, can be seen submerged in water and mud at Richardson Bay in California, US.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver had been consuming alcohol before driving off in the silver supercar.

The vehicle then proceeded to fly off the road along Seminary Drive in the city of Mill Valley, travelling over an embankment and then crashing into the bay.
It landed in the water, buried almost up to the axles in mud.
Officers found the driver attempting to flee the scene, as reported by Need To Know.
After performing tests on the man, they recorded that he was over the legal amount of alcohol.
He claimed to have been driving home after drinking at a bar.
In a clip of the Ferrari’s recovery, a truck can be seen pulling it out of the water.
It can be seen with damaged doors and its heels hanging off.
At the end of the video, the driver can also be seen getting arrested.
The incident occurred on 30 November.
California Highway Patrol shared the footage to its Facebook the next day, with the song ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ by R. Kelly.
A spokesman captioned the post: “Yesterday, the driver of this Ferrari decided to get in his car and drive after consuming alcohol.
“Shortly thereafter, he failed to properly negotiate a curve on Seminary Drive in Unincorporated Mill Valley, and then took sail, crashing his Ferrari into Richardson Bay.
“We’re thankful this crash didn’t result in fatal injuries to the driver or anyone else.
“Please designate a sober driver or call a ride service instead of driving intoxicated.”
It has since gathered over 400 likes and plenty of comments from users.
William said: “Looks like he forgot to put his landing gear down!”
Evelina added: “He should be publicly shamed. He doesn’t deserve such a vehicle.”

The CHP has not announced any charges against the driver.
