In a heroic move, the first victim stands up, grabs the attacker with both hands and somehow manages to hold him still.
Other students then pile in to help restrain him.
The incident occurred at a school in Guadalajara, Mexico, last Saturday (30 Nov) at around 11am.
Prior to the attack, the young man who assaulted his classmates had shared a concerning message on social media, as reported by Need To Know.
He wrote: “The time has come.
“Don’t think that tears and condolences will stop me.
“I have invested enough money in this for this day, tomorrow many will be happy, others will curse me, but I will continue with the mission.”
The aggressor’s classmates said he did not talk to them much and sat at the back of the room.
Authorities were immediately alerted.
After detaining the minor, they seized an axe-type weapon, a hammer, a knife and a bottle of alcohol.
He has been charged with crimes of qualified injuries and will remain in preventive detention until the legal situation is resolved.
