Vengeful locals have killed a hammerhead shark just days after battering another sea predator with a club.
Vigilante fishermen have been going out to sea to slay any sharks they come across.
Their killing spree follows the attack of two tourists in the resort town of Tela in Honduras, in the last three weeks.

A tourist was reportedly attacked near the Port of Puerto Castilla.

On Monday (14 Oct), a second holidaymaker was seriously injured while enjoying a dip in the sea near the town centre.

Roberto Carlos Bu Mejía, 38, was left with gaping wounds on his torso and right leg, as reported by Need To Know.

He is still recovering from his ordeal in hospital.
Angry locals went out to sea and found a shark they believed was responsible for attacking Roberto.
In the footage, the fishermen are seen dangling bait in the water before hooking the shark.
They drag the animal to the surface and position it alongside their boat.
A fisherman then batters the shark’s snout with a club.
The predator struggles to swim away, but the man keeps it next to the boat and continues whacking its head.
The presence of multiple sharks in the area has put the local population on high alert.
A group of fishermen found a hammerhead shark in the sea yesterday (16 Oct).
They killed the animal and dragged its carcass ashore to parade in front of locals.

Their actions were widely slammed as “irresponsible” online.
Locals said “they are not acting in a professional manner”, “human stupidity has no limits”, and “no good decisions are being made” following the two shark attacks in the area.
In response, the mayor’s office of Tela issued a statement advising residents not to enter the sea looking for marine predators.
Local experts also pointed out that hammerhead sharks do not generally pose a threat to humans.
