An undercover police officer busted a sexual assault suspect dressed as a wrestler.

Sub-lieutenant Polawat Nakthamya disguised himself with a costume made up of fake tattoos and a mask during the sting operation.

He joined the suspect, Su Xing Rui, at a hotel where six other undercover officers had hidden themselves.

The 33-year-old, who is accused of sexually assaulting, harassing and blackmailing an 18-year-old student, thought he was meeting a young woman and man for sexual intercourse.

In the video, Polawat and Su appear to be having a casual conversation when suddenly the undercover police reveal themselves.

Two come jumping out of the wardrobe, while another comes running from the corner on the right.

Su, who is a Chinese national, is pinned to the bed by the men as he shouts out in shock.

The arrest came on Monday (2 Dec), at a prestigious hotel in Phaya Thai, Bangkok, Thailand.

Authorities were able to seize evidence which included a smartphone containing videos of rape, sadistic sexual acts and numerous incidents of upskirting.

They also discovered rope which had allegedly been used during sexual intercourse.

An investigation began when an 18-year-old first-year Thai student reported that she was raped on 19 November, as reported by Need To Know.

She reported that she met Su at a shopping centre in Bangkok, where he approached her and pretended to be a tourist.

Since she was learning Chinese, she agreed to talk to him.

Su is accused of luring her to a hotel where he raped her and recorded the assault.

Su allegedly later threatened her by text message and asked her to meet up with him again to engage in sexual activities, including with other men.

Out of fear, the victim confided in her family, who then took her to the police to file a complaint.

Instead of sending the victim to the hotel room to meet the suspect, police used a decoy.

Polawat was assigned to play the role of the man.

The suspect denies all of the allegations.

The investigation team has provided evidence to the Phaya Thai Police Station for further legal action.
