An influencer who went viral after sharing how she used her own faeces to make a face mask is now utilising urine as a ‘skincare’ method.

Débora Peixoto took to Instagram to share her bizarre hack with her 680,000 followers in a video that has over 57,000 views.

The 32-year-old claims the latest bizarre hack has left her skin looking “radiant”.

“I decided to try it because I saw people sharing stories about how much healthier their skin looked after doing the same,” the content creator told Need To Know.

“After a few weeks, I noticed my skin was softer, had fewer marks and even looked more radiant.

“It’s impressive.

“I have now incorporated urine treatment into my daily care regimen.

“Despite the benefits I have experienced, I know there will be controversy surrounding the treatment.

“I know many people will cringe at the idea but for me, it’s important to share what works in my experience.

“Everyone decides what’s best for themselves.”

Débora claims the practice is also a “natural solution” for treating acne and “improving skin hydration”.

Sharing more on her treatment, the influencer says she only uses the first urine of the day, collected in the morning.

She then applies it directly to her face and leaves it on for a few minutes before ringing it off with cold water.

Débora also revealed that she tested the technique on her husband to evaluate the results.

She said: “I tried it on my husband and his skin looks flawless!

“It’s definitely one of the best skincare techniques I’ve ever tried.”

Her husband, Anderson Alves Peixoto, added: “I [wasn’t] too keen on the idea but I can’t deny that the method works.”

Despite facing criticism for her unusual skincare methods – which also includes utilising her own period blood – Débora continues to defend her choices.

She said: “My goal isn’t to convince anyone but to show that sometimes it’s worth stepping out of your comfort zone to find what works for you.

“My skin has never looked better.”

The influencer reaffirmed her willingness to test different skincare practices.

She said: “If it’s working for me, I’m going to keep using it.

“And for my followers, I will continue to share my skincare tips to help maintain youthful, healthy skin, regardless of other people’s opinions.”

In the video, the influencer can be seen in her bathroom, wearing a pink headband.

She then picks up the pot of urine before using a small spatula to wipe the liquid across her cheeks, forehead, chin and nose.

After a few minutes of leaving the pee on her face, the Brazilian native uses a face wash to clear it off.

The post has gained over 380 likes and plenty of comments so far.

Karina said: “How far will the people go, mercy.”

WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS

Dr Sophie Momen, a consultant dermatologist at the Cadogan Clinic in London, has warned against the hack.

She said: “Using bodily waste such as faeces or urine as skincare is highly concerning and unsafe.

“While there is a trend for unconventional treatments in the beauty world, this crosses boundaries of both hygiene and health.

“Human waste, particularly faeces, is teeming with bacteria, toxins and pathogens that could cause severe infections, skin irritation, or more serious medical conditions.

“Urine, although sterile when it leaves the body, breaks down quickly and can harbour ammonia, which is harsh on the skin and can disrupt its natural pH balance.

“These procedures are neither backed by science nor recommended by medical professionals and can pose significant risks.”

She firmly believes that skincare should be “rooted in evidence-based science, not sensational trends or anecdotal claims.”

She added: “While there are countless proven treatments available, including medically formulated products, relying on bodily waste is both unsanitary and potentially dangerous.

“There are no credible studies to suggest that faeces or urine can improve skin health. In contrast, their use increases the risk of bacterial contamination and irritation, doing far more harm than good.

“Clear, radiant skin is best achieved through well-researched ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, retinoids, vitamin C and other dermatologist-approved treatments.”
