The doctors managed to reduce his intracranial pressure and repair some of the damaged tissue.

However, his prognosis is critical and he is said to be fighting for his life in the ICU.

The horror unfolded during a protest against the Argentine government in Buenos Aires.

At least 124 people were arrested and at least 46 were injured, including 26 security officers and 20 protesters.

One police officer underwent surgery after being shot in the left arm.

The demo also saw protesters overturn a police car and set it on fire, as reported by Need To Know.

Grillo is an independent photographer and photojournalist who studied at the National University of Lanús.

He is said to be a huge fan of Independiente – one of Argentina’s “Big Five” football clubs.

Lanús mayor Julián Álvarez said: “His family, loved ones, and the entire Argentine public are deeply moved by this situation and are waiting for his recovery.”

Grillo’s family is demanding justice.
