Police have revealed that the mystery death of a missing hairdresser is being investigated as a “mafia-style” murder.
Dad-of-one Francesco Diviesti, 26, was last seen leaving his father’s barber shop on 25 April, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Police found a badly burned body in an abandoned farmhouse four days later (29 Apr).

Confirmation of the man’s identity is expected later this month (May) but Francesco’s parents have confirmed that the necklace and bracelet found on the body belong to their son.
Francesco – from Barletta, south-eastern Italy – was found with several bullet wounds.

Spent shells from two different handguns were found at the scene between Canosa di Puglia and Minervino Murge.
Initial examinations suggest he was shot before being set on fire.
Pathologists are now working to determine if Francesco was still alive when he was burned.
And prosecutors from Bari’s anti-mafia division are investigating the case as a suspected mafia-style murder.
Five suspects, aged 25 to 57, have been placed under investigation and their homes have been searched.

Three are men from Barletta and the fourth is a man from Minervino Murge, whose villa near the derelict farmhouse has been seized.
The fifth is an Albanian national who is currently untraceable.
Francesco leaves behind an eight-year-old son.
His final hours remain a mystery but the police believe he fell victim to a planned execution.
No details have been released about the possible motive.
