A teen thug who stabbed a father in front of his children has been caged.
Dearnie Jones was pursuing the victim’s son with a gang of other youths.
The concerned dad, who was in his 40s, was contacted by his distressed son at about 6.30pm and arrived nearby to pick him up.

Police said the youths were trying to steal his son’s electric bike before the victim arrived with his other children.
Jones, 19, was wearing a mask while holding a large knife and threatening several people.
He then targeted and cornered the dad and stabbed him in the stomach.
After being stabbed, the father got back into his car and drove to a supermarket car park.
He required emergency surgery and was in a coma for a week, as reported by Need To Know.

Luckily he survived.
The stabbing happened in Mapperley, Notts, in October 2024.
Detectives identified Jones, of Ruddington Lane, Nottingham, and he was arrested following a manhunt.
He was convicted of wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place following a trial.
Now Jones has been sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court to nine years in a young offender institution.
Notts Police Det Con Charlotte Webster said: “What happened that evening is yet another example of how the presence of a knife can instantly lead to an escalation of any incident.
“Despite the presence of a number of onlookers, including children, Jones brandished a knife, cornered the victim next to a fence and stabbed him.
“His actions inflicted serious injuries and the outcome could have been even more grave without the efforts of emergency responders and hospital staff.
“Jones could quite easily have been in court today to be sentenced for killing a man.
“A team of detectives and other officers worked hard on this investigation to understand what happened, track down Jones, arrest him and build the case against him.
“I’m grateful to all the people who gave their accounts of the incident and particularly to the victim.
“His help proved vital in achieving this outcome at court.
“We continue our work as a force, alongside partners, to educate people about making the right decisions and to never leave their home with a knife.”
