Holidaymakers were treated to unexpected drama when a truck got stuck in the sand at a popular beach.
The vehicle became beached at Traeth Beach in north Wales on Sunday (24 August) afternoon, sparking a rescue mission that lasted more than an hour.
Footage showed two people desperately digging with shovels before a white van attempted – and failed – to tow the truck to safety.

Another vehicle also tried to free it without success, until a Land Rover eventually managed to pull the stranded truck out.
“It was about an hour and a half before they got the van out,” one onlooker told Need To Know.
“Crowds gathered for the rescue mission and applause broke out once the vehicle was finally recovered.
“They seemed very relieved and laughed it off once it was pulled out.”
The witness added the beach was the busiest he’d ever seen that day – and the recovery became the star attraction.
