A politician’s daughter has been shot dead outside a club in what may have been a case of mistaken identity.
Gabriela Trejos and her friends were leaving the venue after a birthday celebration.
An armed man approached and opened fire in the early hours of Monday (15 Sept), without saying a word.

The 23-year-old was reportedly struck in the face and killed instantly, while one of her friends was injured and is now recovering in hospital, as reported by Need To Know.
The suspect fled the scene in Buga, near Cali, Colombia, and remains at large.

Authorities believe he was a hitman.
Investigators are exploring the possibility that Gabriela was not the intended target.
One theory is that the attacker may have been aiming for her male friend.
Gabriela, who was studying social work, was the daughter of Marcos Trejos, former president of the local Chamber of Commerce.
He described her as “the most wonderful person in the world”.
Former Colombian president Álvaro Uribe is among those paying tribute.
A funeral procession through the streets of Buga took place on Tuesday (16 Sept).
The investigation into her death is ongoing.
