With a rise in shoplifting incidents, store workers are now taking a stand against thieves – leaving shoppers stumped.

Despite big bags of Dairy Milk buttons, which were 50p more, being left unguarded directly below the secure items.

After walking down another aisle, the shopper, who requested not to be named, noticed the washing pods had also been locked up.

The £3.85 boxes of Persil and Fairy washing items were also placed in tagged boxes, which required staff to open upon purchase.

£6 bottles of detergent were also spotted in security boxes.
