A British mum has claimed that she was left “unable to be woken up for eight hours” by surgeons after going through botched breast surgery abroad.

Jade had hoped to jet off to Belgium and return to the UK with her confidence boosted.

Instead, she came home having gone through a life-changing nightmare.

The mum, from Essex, wanted to restore the shape of her breasts after having a child and decided to try out a clinic abroad due to a recommendation.

During the procedure, however, medics were allegedly unable to wake the then 25-year-old up for over eight hours and avoided calls from her concerned mum.

The horrifying ordeal not only left a mental scar but also a physical one, as her breasts looked “worse than before”.

“He gave me the opposite of what I asked for,” Jade told Need To Know.

“If laws had been in place to protect people like me, I might have been spared years of pain, stress and financial loss.

“No one should have to go through what I did just to feel confident again.”

It was initially suggested that Jade have a breast uplift, though she claims the surgeon “convinced” her that implants alone would suffice.

She agreed, unaware of what would follow.

The mum alleges there was no airport pickup, accommodation package or hospital transfer arranged.

And the clinic itself didn’t resemble a medical facility and no staff were present when she arrived for the surgery.

Jade and her friend waited in the street until someone arrived and, when they did, she claims no bloodwork or weight check was carried out, nor any documentation given.

The implants given were “tear-drop”-shaped, despite her request for a fuller, rounder look.

Upon waking up following the procedure, she was alone in a dark and cold room, without a bra or support garments.

She was discharged only a few hours later without proper aftercare, pain relief or a fit-to-fly certificate.

A few months later, the implants had dropped significantly and looked “worse than before”.

Upset by the results, she returned to the clinic for corrective surgery, paying a further £900, which her mum had to help finance.

Sadly, it was another disaster, as Jade’s nipples were cut unevenly and the uplift wasn’t carried out correctly.

She was left with severe scarring as the surgeon had failed to use the existing incision lines.

In 2023, when Jade flew to Turkey for dental work, she spoke to someone who had breast surgery through Longevita, with the procedure advertised on their website starting at £2,050.

Impressed by the results, she reached out and went under corrective surgery in Istanbul with Professor Dr Fuat at the clinic in November 2024.

Her original botched surgery was in 2018.

The experience was entirely different, with pre-operative assessments completed and all logistics – such as transfers and accommodation – handled by them.

Jade was finally able to see the results she had been hoping for first-hand and felt safe throughout the whole process.

She said: “The results with Longevita were life-changing.

“The uplift and implants gave me the look I had hoped for all those years ago.

“For the first time, I feel confident in my body.”

Jade is sharing her story as a reminder of the risks associated with poorly regulated overseas clinics.

She’s backing Longevita’s campaign for government legislation that would protect patients from rogue providers.

This includes restricting advertising to UK residents, mandating pre-treatment medical checks and ensuring access to travel insurance that covers post-operative complications.
