A 23-year-old cancer influencer has tragically died after a brave battle with the disease.
Damiano Alberti was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in his leg in 2023.

“Four days ago, I began a treatment plan carefully designed by a team of expert doctors.
“I’m ready to face this period, get through it as best I can, and come back to be with you all.”
Born and raised in Cerveteri, in Italy’s Greater Rome area, Damiano took a year-long break from social media before returning to share his journey.
He spoke openly about the highs and lows of cancer treatment, including surgeries, amputation, prosthesis, and relearning to walk.
He was also known for his reflections on life and his street interviews, which he collectively called “Damiano Among the People”.

By the time of his passing, he had tens of thousands of followers across Instagram, Twitch, TikTok, and YouTube, as reported by Need To Know.
His final post, dated 22 September, read: “That’s another step done. It’s never easy to get through weeks like this, and you never really get used to it.
“But this is part of my life, and it has to be accepted. I left the hospital without complaining too much, but that’s in the past now.
“It’s time to get back on track and keep looking forward. Thank you for all the support over this time – now it’s time to start again.”

His family announced his passing on Sunday (15 Feb), writing: “A part of us is gone forever, but Damiano is finally free from all he went through.
“Thank you for always supporting and respecting him. He loved his community dearly and was proud of everything he had achieved.”
Damiano’s funeral will be held in Cerveteri on Wednesday (18 Feb). He is survived by his parents, brothers, and sister.
