First it was locusts, then praying mantises and now killer whales have been spotted patrolling off Cornwall.
The orcas caused a stir just off the coast on Wednesday.
Last year, exotic sightings abounded in the county with Egyptian locusts, praying mantises and even a rare, prehistoric-looking fish.

Eyewitness Joe Jones was stunned by the orcas.
“It felt incredible,” he told Need To Know.
“I thought it was an April’s fool when I heard.
“But I decided to go look anyway, first off Kennack on the east coast of the Lizard peninsula.
“They were there but distant.
“Once they had passed by I went to Lizard Point where they passed much closer and gave much better views, I’ve seen Fin, Minke and Humpback whales over the last few years around the Lizard.
“But this was by far the best and an absolute pleasure to have seen them.”
Gemma Newman of Cornwall Wildlife Trust managed to video them.

A CWT spokesperson said: “Big wildlife news.
“Orca were seen off the Lizard in Cornwall.
“Another rare sighting in our changing seas.”
