An image shows Tokischa wearing a clingy dress that leaves little to the imagination.
With her back to the wall, she is surrounded by arrows, possibly referencing the martyrdom of St Sebastian.
A second snap shows the 30-year-old rapper, full name Tokischa Altagracia Peralta, kneeling on a pew in just a skimpy G-string and high heels, showing off her tattoos in front of the Divine Mercy image.

The provocative images were filmed for a music video inside the Basilica of Santa María del Coro in San Sebastián, Spain.
The Diocese of San Sebastián has now demanded her production company remove the images and is even considering legal action.

A spokesperson said: “We deeply regret the misuse of a sacred space to create content that is at odds with the respect owed to such a place and that offends the religious sensibilities of the faithful.”
The video for “(No) Margine – Part 1 – ‘Bisous Bisous’” premiered on YouTube, where Tokischa has more than two million subscribers, on 25 March.
The Diocese explained that on 18 July 2025, the production company Visore requested permission to film a “brief scene inside one of the diocese’s churches, assuring it would be a ‘contemplative and respectful moment, with no dialogue or any activity that would disrupt the normal running of the space’.”
When asked for further details, the company said it was a “cultural project aimed at promoting Basque culture through an intimate, poetic story”.
After reviewing the work of Visore and Tokischa, the Diocese refused the request, as reported by Need To Know.
However, Visore allegedly approached other officials connected to the basilica – outside the Diocese – without disclosing the original refusal.
The Diocese said: “It is being examined whether these actions might require some form of legal or canonical action.”

It added: “Only activities that support and promote worship, piety, and religion are permitted in a sacred place, and anything inconsistent with the holiness of the site is prohibited.”
Tokischa, from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, is no stranger to controversy.
In 2021, she posed semi-naked at the sanctuary of the Virgin of Altagracia in La Vega in her home country.
After the latest backlash, she told fans on social media: “My relationship is with God, not with religion.
“God accepts me as I am, created me, does not judge me, and allows me to learn from my mistakes and discover the truth for myself.”
