An urban explorer has discovered an overgrown and hidden home dubbed the “house of books” – and it’s filled with thousands of collectables, including encyclopaedias and board games.
Daniel Sims, 32, from Huddersfield, found the farm in Cambridgeshire with a hidden front, and inside found the home left filled to the brim with the previous owner’s possessions.
The explorer regularly shares his adventures into abandoned buildings on his YouTube channel, BeardedReality.

In his latest video he explores the property, which appears to have been left to decay.
After hearing about the home from a fellow explorer, Daniel and his friend Mick entered the home via an open door.
“The atmosphere was electrifying, as soon as you enter the property you can tell that it has just been left with very little touched or moved by anyone,” Daniel told Jam Press.
“As you walk around the place you get the eerie sense of the person’s life and how they lived which also gives you a slight insight into the previous occupant.”
Inside, they found the kitchen covered with cobwebs with everything left, from kitchen appliances and old tins of chocolate.
They then come across magazine samples and old beauty products in the bathroom next door.
In another room they find PlayStation games, family photos, a large cross and an old sewing machine.
In the hallway they find cabinets full of countless books and an old suitcase, before entering the old living room which still has the furniture and piano in place, as well as a note left for the last owner.
The explorer believes the house must’ve been abandoned after someone had passed away, leaving their collection of hundreds of books.
Daniel added: “In the property, also dubbed by a few others that have explored it the ‘house of books’, the place contains easily over 1,000 books in various locations, scattered in the upstairs hallways and shelves filled with them slowly collecting dust.
“Some of these books are very old and I noticed, in particular, a few very old encyclopaedias which were collectors’ editions so this could fetch quite a high price.”
Upstairs, they find jars miscellaneous items left on the stairs, before they come across an added extension with curtains and toys decaying.

They assume the room must’ve been a children’s room as they come across old Snoopy toys, wooden toys and cuddly dolls.
In the hallway they find an old typewriter and more books before coming across an en suite bedroom with mattresses and bedroom furniture left decaying, as well as medication left scattered around the room.
Going back into the hallway they find tons of board games and even more books.
They then find the study where Daniel says they could’ve “started their own book shop” and a wardrobe with clothes still left hung inside.
They then head back downstairs while observing the cobwebs, damp and decay.
Daniel and Mick also found tons of old board games and a record player with classic records left behind.
Outside they find a garage, which is closed off, and an old white car which seems to have been left behind with the shrubbery overgrowing it.
Daniel said: “We were there for about an hour looking at the various things here trying to paint a picture of the person’s life and seeing all that was left behind.
“You feel a sense of sadness that all this is left especially personal photos and items but also a true thrill of seeing how someone once lived their life and what they left behind.”
