A blundering teen has been offered free tickets to a Coldplay gig after mistaking a cinema showing in the Lake District for a concert in Argentina.
Finley Galdins forked out £25 thinking he was going to see Chris Martin and co live.
But he accidentally bought some to watch a screening of them perform in Buenos Aires, the capital of the South American country.
Finley, 17, was left distraught by his mistake, and fearful that he wouldn’t get to see his favourite band.
However, the teen woke up to a message from the band offering him an all expenses paid trip to their Amsterdam show next month.
It is for two people and includes flights and hotel costs.
Finley, 17, explained how he’d been searching for Coldplay tickets for months and months, and he hadn’t managed to get lucky.
However, he’d actually booked a cinema showing in Kendal, Cumbria for a show 7,347 miles in Argentina at the River Plate football stadium.
He shared his frustration online and to his luck, this was noticed by the band who messaged him directly.
He fumed: “I’ve just spunked 25 quid on a Coldplay ticket thinking it was a concert.
“Turns out it’s a cinema screen in Kendal of a concert they’re doing in Argentina.
“Are you taking the p*ss, it said live at the River Plate.”
He claimed: “I just presume that was the place in Kendal. Not once did it say cinema.
“What a s*ite start to the day.”
This teen was left ecstatic after reading a direct message from Coldplay, asking him to join them on tour for a date in Amsterdam with all expenses paid.
He added: “I’m shaking, what is life, I can’t believe it.”
The teen is now set to head to Coldplay’s Amsterdam show next month on 15 July at Johan Cruijff Arena.
Brewery Arts Cinema had screened the band’s shows at the River Plate football stadium between 19 and 23 April.
