A dad-of-two was accidentally shot dead by a pal who fired a gun in the air after a funeral.
Kelvin Suárez Pin died in the middle of a friend, Byron Gutiérrez’s, wake.
The horror moment he was blasted in the chest was captured on CCTV in the street.
The one minute, 25 second clip shows several mourners sitting outside a building at night.
A man arrives in a car and takes a seat alongside the group.
The man closest to the camera suddenly looks up to the sky and lifts his arm to fire a shot into the air.
However, the gun goes off early and the bullet strikes the friend sitting directly opposite the shooter.
Tragic Kelvin, 28, falls forwards as the unnamed shooter gestures that he meant to shoot into the air.
Locals in Manta, west of the capital Quito, Ecuador, dash out into the street after hearing the gunshot and melee.
The shooter then jumps into the nearby parked car as the injured man is helped into the backseat, apparently to drive to a nearby hospital.
Byron was reportedly killed by armed gang members days before on 28 June.
Doctors confirmed that the father-of two Kelvin had been hit “in the chest near the heart” at the wake.
After Kelvin passed away on 6 July, the police seized the murder weapon but were unable to arrest the shooter as he fled shortly after the incident.
There have been no further updates on the man’s arrest as the investigation continues.
