A man has been left disgusted after claiming to have found a cockroach in his curry dish.
Aidan Jefferson was out with his mum Clare for her birthday meal at Ashford Indian Diner, when he allegedly discovered the creepy crawly on his plate.
When Aidan first saw the insect, he presumed it was a giant bean.
However, after noticing it had legs, the family told the restaurant they would not be “paying for the food”.

“I had nearly finished the entire dish when I noticed it on my plate and I was completely shocked” Aidan, 18, told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk
He said “At first I just thought it was a bean that had got into the dish and so did my family.
“However, then I noticed the legs and I was absolutely disgusted.
“My family thought I was joking with them and they laughed it off saying it was a bean until I pointed out the legs to them.
“I felt absolutely sick, this wasn’t the first time we’d eaten here either so we were all in disbelief.”
After reporting the incident to the restaurant, the family were left even more frustrated.
He claims: We spoke to the waitress who I believe was in the owners’ family informing her we would not be paying for the food.
“None of us were happy paying for food which could have made us unwell, but we said we’d pay for the drinks.
“She passed this on to the owner who then came out to speak to us himself.
“He came out seeming very frustrated suggesting it could have just fallen in while being prepared.
“It was like he was in denial and couldn’t accept it.”

After the incident, the family went online to review the experience they’d had at the restaurant and were reportedly met with more backlash from the owner.
He added “I wrote a review on Google about it with a picture of the cockroach.
“The owner denied that it had happened, despite the picture, and also said we’d refused to pay which isn’t true.
“We paid for the drinks, but there was no way we were paying for the food after that.
“I would never, ever return to this restaurant and I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
“We also reported this incident to Ashford Council and the Food Standards Agency.”
Ashford Indian Diner responded to Aiden’s claim online saying “Whom it may concern, I am the owner of Indian dinner.
