A photographer has shared incredible images of a elephant stretching out in an attempt to reach treats at the tip of its trunk – with the graceful move comparable to that of a ballerina.
Balancing on its hind legs, the fully-grown bull African elephant manages to snag the snack.
The amazing shot was captured by lodge manager and photographer Mark Nicholson in Winterthorn Forest, Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia, using a Canon R6 Mark II camera.
Parked 80 metres away from the large bull, he was able to capture the rare moment after an hour of trailing the elephant.

“I felt privileged and very lucky,” the 39-year-old from Zambia told NeedToKnow.co.uk .
“There are only a few elephant bulls which have the capability of standing on their back legs.
“I had been following this bull for about an hour before he did his party trick.
“I love that I get to share the elephants with the world.
“Not many people will have the privilege of going on a safari in Africa so I am very lucky to call it home and love being able to share these incredible experiences with everyone.”
In one image, the elephant can be seen stretching its hind legs, preparing for the daring stunt.
Another shot shows the bull tentatively balancing its body, using his trunk to reach and balance himself.
Sharing the find on Instagram (@marknicholson83 ), where Mark has over 21,200 followers and over 2,000 likes, animal lovers have rushed to show their love for the adorable snap.
