Nature inFocus 2023 winners announced – from cuddling chimps to hungry leopards

Nature inFocus 2023 winners announced – from cuddling chimps to hungry leopards The winners of this year's Nature inFocus Photography competition have been announced and the results are stunning. Srikanth Mannepuri claimed the title of Photographer of the Year for his incredible photo of a tiger snatching up a snapping turtle, for which he received a cash prize of £950 (100,000 Indian Rupees). There were nine categories to choose from: Animal Behaviour, Animal portraits, Conservation Focus, Creative Nature Photography, Wildscape & Animals in Their Habitat and Young Photographer. The winner of each category receives a cash prize of £470 (50,000 Indian Rupees), along with a certificate and trophy. Another image, by Christian Ziegler, shows a chimpanzee hugging a small animal lovingly, winning him first prize in the animal behaviour category. “Every year, we see images that reveal new facets of our natural world while shining a light on pertinent global conservation issues,” said Rohit Varma, one of the founds of Nature inFocus. “We are thrilled to see the growth in the number of participants and the geographical locations. “It truly has become an international platform for wildlife photographers!” To view the winning images visit http://www.natureinfocus.in .
