A woman who is obsessed with extraterrestrials and wants to be permanently blue spends two hours painting her face and body blue almost daily to “feel like an alien”.
Lhouraii Li, from Bradford, England, started turning herself into the aquatic shade five years ago, expressing herself through her unique look.

The self-declared extraterrestrial has even learned to speak Klingon, an alien language from the 1960s TV series Star Trek.
Sharing her unique appearance on Instagram (@lhouraii), she quickly amassed over 13,700 followers.
“I definitely feel like an alien,” the 33-year-old nail artist told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk .
“Dressing any other way I feel like I’m not myself, like I’m in costume.
“It takes me about one to two hours to get ready.
“I put in my contact lenses then apply the blue paint first, then the rest of my makeup.

“I don’t get ready every day because I can’t afford to but other reasons too, just like most people don’t wear makeup every day when they are staying in their home.”
“I do it because I feel most comfortable that way, I feel most like myself.”
Inspired by Japanese styles, Lhouraii Li became obsessed with her look, donning a wig, contact lenses, paper mache elf ears and horns to complete her look.
Spending approximately £30 a year on body paint, she uses a white base to make her skin more pigmented and achieve her iconic blue look.
“I know many people struggle to understand that but that’s just how I feel, not sure why,” she added.
“I know there are so many others who feel this way too, who struggle to connect with anyone.
“I forgot being blue isn’t exactly normal.”
However, the paint does rub off, with people questioning how it affects her sex life with her partner Nathan.
“My partner wears a lot of makeup too,” she added.
“He likes my style and we both enjoy doing our makeup together.

“It’s funny, I’ve seen comments online from people saying that the blue must get all over him when we’re intimate and it’s actually true.
“It’s like an exchange of make-up.”
Posting on Instagram, she has received a large following of loyal viewers, with one video gaining over 10,500 views.
