A bright pink, Barbie-style cat has been spotted in the street leaving locals stunned.
One filmed the brightly-coloured moggy as it sauntered along the pavement.
The feline turns and shows its face, which appears to be partially dyed and naturally white in colour.
The animal is also seen wearing a collar, suggesting it has an owner.
Other than its unusual colour, the feline – spotted in Mexico – seems to be in good health and well looked after.
But one local fumed: “What sons of b*tches.”
They claimed: “If the cat cleans itself, it can end up poisoned.”
Another said: “I’m consumed by anger.”
Someone else wrote: “Poor cat, you have to be very stupid to do that.”
Maria remarked: “I hope they used dye that is not toxic to the cat.”
Luna commented: “I hope those damned burn in hell.”
Anyone convicted of dying an animal can face jail under Mexican law.
The authorities point out that dyes can cause allergies, such as skin irritation or pain, as well as a lot of stress for the animal.
The toxins in the dye could also affect the animal’s health and even cause death.
It’s unclear if the authorities are trying to track down the culprit behind the cat’s altered appearance.
The Barbie movie – starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling – was one of the cinema hits of the year across the globe.
It is the biggest film this year so far having taken over £1.1bn at the box office worldwide.
The much-hyped movie – based on the blonde-haired, pink-loving toy doll – came out on the same day in July as Oppenheimer.
