Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy splashed the cash…on some posh mince pies.
The club supremo is renowned for being cautious with the coffers in the transfer market.
But it didn’t stop him from spending £15 on a pack of the festive snacks.
He was spotted in upmarket Gail’s bakery in Barnet, north London.
The shop is just a 10-mile drive from Spurs’ 62,000-capacity stadium.
One eagle-eyed Tottenham fan said: “He went in and ordered a pack of six mince pies and a latte.
“When he asked his name for the coffee order he replied ‘Daniel’.”
“It was about 7.30 am and the bakery was virtually empty.
“Gail’s is very expensive, which makes a change for Levy to be happy to pay over the odds.”
He was seen looking at his mobile phone at a table with the mince pies in front of him while he waited for his drink.
A pack of ‘Six Mince Pies’ at Gail’s is £13.55 more expensive than at Morrisons.
The Gail’s website reads: “Bramley apples, vine fruits and candied orange peel in sweet pastry, sprinkled with Demerara sugar.”
A pack of six Morrisons Mince Pies costs £1.45.
