Morrisons is selling MINCE PIES already as the country is hit by a 31C (87.8F) heatwave.
The supermarket giant is flogging a variety of the festive treats 16 weeks early.
One shocked shopper said: “I love a mince pie as much as the next man.
“But we are heading into a heatwave this week.
“It seems mad to be selling them so far ahead of Christmas.”

Barmy Morrisons bosses said it is doing it because it’s shoppers like them so much.
They were spotted in the branch of Morrisons in Fleet, Hampshire.
The store is selling packs of four puff pastry ones already.
On the shelves already are Morrisons ‘The Best’ deep filled mince pies.
They too come in a pack of four for the same price.

However, they won’t last until the yuletide as they have best before dates for September.
There are also boxes of six of their normal shortcrust mince pies.
All four boxes cost £1.75.
The Christmas treats were made in the store’s onsite bakery.
It comes as children across the UK head back to school.
The country is basking in an Indian summer with the mercury set to hit 31C (87.8F) this week.
A Morrisons spokesperson: “We start selling mince pies a few months before Christmas because our customers tell us they really enjoy them.”
