A hairdresser has gone viral after sharing a video of a little girl’s hidden head lice infestation – and says that the eggs would have hatched if left any longer.
Rachel Maroun works as a head lice technician and often hits the headlines after revealing the most severe cases she’s dealt with.
Previously, the 21-year-old showed a client who had over 150 lice eggs living on their scalp, leaving many social media users horrified.

Now, in a recent case, she’s taken a look at a schoolgirl who had deceivingly long, shiny, clean hair.
In the clip posted on TikTok, which has racked up 18.9 million views and over two million likes, she shows the investigation, where hundreds of lice babies were found hiding.
“At first glance, I didn’t think she would have a lot of lice,” Rachel told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
“But then I looked above her ear, which is where eggs are normally laid, and I found quite a few.
“If you can’t tell the difference [between dandruff and lice] give it a little pull, and if it is stuck in there, congratulations you have lice.
“Lice normally lay their eggs at the nape of the neck or behind the ears.

“I pick up so many lice babies, I’m so glad she came to me before these all hatched next week.
“All of these teeny tiny eggs would have become teeny tiny lice, and eventually lay up to 150 eggs each.”
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many people drawing on their own lice experiences.
Luis said: “Lice aside, her hairs so beautiful and healthy.”
Sunny added: “I remember how bad my lice was as a kid. I just KNOW she felt better as you were combing.”
Cat wrote: “I always get such an itchy head watching these.”

Sophie commented: “I’ve had lice twice when I was little and it was one of the worst experiences ever.”
Willie added: “As someone with curly hair lice is my BIGGEST Fear.”
“I’m scared if I have lice,” Kaz said. [sic]

“This made my whole body tingle,” wrote Sasha.
“These vids are so satisfying,” commented Georgia.
Rachel, from Sydney, Australia, said: “I don’t expect many people to like my job.
“I’m very used to the ‘grossed out’ reaction I receive for doing what I do.
“At one point I was the only technician in Australia since no one wanted to do treatments.
“But I couldn’t see myself in any other career so maybe it was made for me.
“My job, although I never imagined myself doing it, has been the biggest blessing.
“It makes me happy every day knowing that I can change someone’s quality of life in such a short period of time.
“The one thing I adore about what I do is being able to turn a negative experience into a positive one for every one of my clients.”
