A beauty queen law graduate died in a horror crash after losing control of her car on a motorway.
Tania Alessi Marín Cruz was driving alone when the tragedy happened.
The 27-year-old model hit a pole on the side of the carriageway.
Her car flipped over and she died at the roadside.
The crash happened on the Mexico City-Pachuca highway in central Mexico.
Marín represented her home state of Hidalgo at the 2023 Mexicana Universal beauty pageant.
A state Attorney General’s Office spokesperson said: “We send our condolences to the family of our colleague and friend Tania Alessi Marín Cruz.
“We hope they find the peace and comfort needed to overcome their loss in these difficult times.
“Rest in peace.”
She had won several local beauty contests and also graduated from university with a law degree.
As well as modelling, Marín took part in local social work and awareness campaigns against breast cancer, a disease that affected her family.
In one of her last Instagram posts, the model wrote: “I am passionate about my work as I can listen to people and be an instrument of help and an agent of change.
“My greatest inspiration is my aunt, who is a warrior who defeated breast cancer, and I experienced this process with her up close.”
