A dog walker received the shock of his life after stumbling across a snake in a field.
Dave Jackson spotted the mystery, red reptile during an afternoon walk.
He discovered it on Saturday (3 Feb).
Initially, Dave thought the scaly critter was dead.
But he says it moved after a passerby poked it with a stick.
He came across the snake in a field in the village of Menston, near Bradford, West Yorkshire.

It is believed to be an escaped or dumped pet.
But locals are concerned it will freeze to death in the cold as they are not used to colder temperatures.
One person, Johanna, said: “Poor thing.
”It will be frozen, someone please go and get it.”
Others questioned what species it could be.
Another person, called Jacqueline, said: “It’s a corn snake and it won’t survive, it’s too cold.”
One person, called Bailey, said: “The tail may look I harmful but will stab at any sense of threat.
”Be careful when approaching unknown snakes, their not all friendly.”
”Poor thing needs taking in, so sad,” said Dawn.
