A lad who documented his battle with cancer on social media and met his Napoli football heroes has died aged 17.
Despite his tenacity, Daniele Caprio lost his battle on Tuesday (6 Feb) morning.
He’d been diagnosed with a tumour in 2020 when he was just 14.
That year, he had an onerous bone marrow transplant.
He went on to have several further ops.
Daniele followed Napoli – who won Serie A last season.

Among his idols he met were club and Italy national star Giovanni Di Lorenzo and leftback Faouzi Ghulam.
Daniele also posed for a snap with winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
He bravely documented his struggle with cancer on TikTok, always with a smile.
His jovial videos touched and inspired thousands of people.
Daniele was from Arzano near Naples, Italy.
His story reached several famous personalities, who visited him in hospital in Naples or sent him their best wishes in video calls.
Among other famous faces to meet the teen were the rappers Geolier, LDA, and Rocco Hunt, and the dancer and TV presenter Stefano De Martino.

Daniele’s passing was announced by his devastated mum Pina Maurino and dad Luigi.
Luigi paid tribute to him on social media, writing: “Rest in peace, my son Daniele, you will be the most beautiful angel in paradise.”

His funeral will be held today (7 Feb) in Arzano.
His follower Elisabeth wrote: “I met you just a few days ago here on TikTok, and you immediately entered my heart.

“Safe travels, Daniele. Now you no longer suffer. I’m so sorry.”
