The London Eye has been slammed by infuriated tourists with one joking getting his wallet stolen would be ‘cheaper’.

Angry visitors took to TripAdvisor to complain about the cost of tickets and also long queues.

It costs £42 for a standard adult ticket or £57 for a fast-track one.

Despite bringing in almost four million tourists each year, the London Eye has disappointed a huge portion of ranting reviewers.

The iconic attraction was labelled the second-most-complained-about landmark in the world for tourist queues last year.

Now, tourists have begun to target the prices with the latest reviews in 2024 giving scathing results.

Daniel Son, who visited this month, joked: “Getting my wallet stolen would have been cheaper.

“It costs around £250 for a family to ride a Ferris wheel for around 20 minutes.

“If you don’t want to stand in a queue you can pay even more.

“When finally in the pod, they pack so many other people in with you that children cannot really get near the window.

“Again, it costs £250. That’s an average of £12 per minute.

“On what possible planet can this be justified by the simple mantra “because we can”.

“Ridiculous and would never go again.”

A couple who made the 4,000-mile trip from Chicago, Illinois, US, to London stated: “We waited in line for 55 minutes and we already had standard tickets.

“The Shard was much nicer, better view and no lines.”

Kristy from Denver, Colorado, US, claimed: “It broke down while we were in line.

“They didn’t give any update while it was being worked on for an hour.

“Finally they closed it, no way to announce this, just told the people closest to the front.

“We then had to go stand in another line to get a refund.

“The people who wanted to rebook didn’t get any special treatment, just find an open time and hope you can go.”

Albrecht Haan, from Holland, described the attraction as “Worthless.”

He continued: “It is disheartening to have invested a significant amount of money for an experience that we were unable to enjoy.”

Poppy Will, who made the four and a half hour journey down from Liverpool to the capital alleged “Awful experience, rude employees and a money making scam.

“Worst part of our London trip and we left feeling scammed, really don’t recommend it.”

Yet one said: “First time and loved it.

“If going to London it is a must do.”
