A young woman is so hooked on mayonnaise she gets through over 150 bottles of it a year.
Megan Tompkins has been obsessed with the condiment for the last four years.
Her favourite is Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise.
On average she gets through three of the 775g bottles of it per week.
It works out at 120,900g of it a year for the 156 containers she devours.
Those bottles cost £3 from Tesco, which sets her back £9 a week or £468 every 12 months.
Support worker Megan puts it almost every meal.
She has it on common meals like pizza or jacket potato.
But Megan also adds it to CURRY and PORRIDGE.
She even makes sure to take emergency bottles with her to restaurants in case they don’t have mayo.
With her car always being stocked up with one bottle to rely upon.
Megan, of Risca, near Newport, south Wales, lives with her partner Joe, who also doesn’t approve of her obsession.
Every birthday she will receive bottles upon bottles of mayonnaise for gifts.
Megan told What’s The Jam: “ I’d say I use up to three bottles a week, my partner rarely has mayo so that’s all eaten by me.
“My friends and family think it’s hilarious, but also very much disgusting.
“My partner said he is just used to it, and has given up trying to stop me.
“I’ve definitely had some odd looks in restaurants too.
“For my birthday I received a good few bottles as gifts.
“I don’t really think it’s an ‘addiction’ because if I had to stop then I would, but I’d never enjoy certain meals again.
“It wouldn’t be the same.
“My mayo madness doesn’t just stop at home.
“I’m always asking for mayo at restaurants, and I have backup mayo bottles and sachets everywhere.
“I keep a bottle in the car just in case, and I keep sachets in my work bag.
“If I’m going for dinner at my parents or sisters house I’m sure to call ahead to check they have mayo.
“There is nothing that makes me happier than going to a restaurant that has bottles of mayo on the table instead of having to ask for sachets.
“Because I usually have at least six sachets on a meal and they never bring you that many.
“If we go somewhere that doesn’t have mayo, it won’t stop me from eating my meal, but it definitely makes it less enjoyable.
“Usually I have a backup in my car anyway so it doesn’t happen often.”
