The killer fled the scene after the shooting on Monday (11 Mar).
Her ex Emerson de Souza Oliveira was found later that day in his own home in another neighbourhood of Juazeiro, Brazil.

The 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of femicide and taken to the police station for questioning.
Quêmoly leaves behind a three-year-old daughter, whose dad is the suspect, and a son.
It’s not clear if the siblings share the same father.
A gun was seized and sent for forensic examination.
He and Quêmoly had only broken up a month earlier.
They’d had a relationship full of ups and downs that lasted at least four years, local media report.

Oliveira has since been transferred to a prison in another city on remand.
His employer said in a statement: “Given this sad episode, the Fire Department is providing all necessary support to the victim’s family and extends its solidarity to all her relatives and friends.”
It’s not clear if Quêmoly’s children witnessed the crime.
She was laid to rest in Juazeiro yesterday (12 Mar).
The investigation continues.
