BOARDMASTERS DROPS THIRD WAVE FOR 2024

Story from Jam Press (Boardmasters Friday) Pictured: Boardmasters. 50,000 festival-goers dance through Friday night at Boardmasters – featuring Lorde and Ben Howard Boardmasters Festival kicks off with a bang, including the musical stylings of Lorde, Ben Howard, and Cypress Hill. The Festival is an annual event held in Cornwall, combining live music with surfing and skateboarding competitions for an incredible five days. Beginning on the second weekend of August, the festival runs from Wednesday to Sunday, but it’s fair to say that Friday night was an absolute blast. Headlining the evening was Lorde, who treated fans to a solar-powered performance of her biggest hits during her Boardmasters debut, with an ethereal show of pop mastery. Ahead of Lorde, special guest Ben Howard took to the stage for a packed-out performance as the sun went down. At Land Of Saints, Cypress Hill headlined, dropping their most iconic tracks including the ultimate crowd pleaser ‘Insane In The Brain’. Throughout the day, other world-class artists provided glorious entertainment including Gabrielle Aplin, The Vaccines, SG Lewis, Warmduscher, Bob Vylan, with Unleashed hosting Example, Ben Nicky, Belters Only, and more. The Point brought banging beats and the best of house and electro music. Fans also gathered in droves to join the sixty-person Cornish Rock Choir at the famous Boardmasters ‘B’ for a sunset sing-along featuring bangers, karaoke classics… and even a conga line for good measure. Alongside the musical headliners, the opening rounds of the Reff Longboard Pro competition took place, running through to the quarterfinals before moving into the Animal Pro QS competition take place on the waves of Fistral Beach. The Green Team took to their daily beach cleans avidly, doing their bit alongside festival goers to make strong efforts towards its continued sustainability goals with beach cleans also taking place on Porth Beach, Watergate Bay, Great Western, and Fi

The sun is shining and spring has sprung, which means Boardmasters 2024 is just a few months away!

And now, the festival has revealed its third and final wave of acts, completing the line up for 2024. 40+ artists including The Streets, Maisie Peters, Ghetts, Professor Green and more join the huge line-up which includes headliners Chase & Status, Sam Fender and Stormzy.

Shaping up to be the biggest Boardmasters yet, fans can check out the final billing, as well as stage splits, revealed as part of today’s announcement.

Plus, there’s tons to explore at this summer’s Boardmasters, including new festival stages, reimagined spaces, plenty of new places to discover and uncover.

That’s not to mention the best in international surfing as the Boardmasters Open supported by Rubicon Raw Energy with the WSL returns to Fistral Beach.

Cornwall’s own surf and music festival, takes place from 7 – 11 August 2024 across two stunning sites in Newquay, Cornwall.


There’s plenty more for festival-goers to discover, across Boardmasters 11 stages which include a newly-designed and newly-located The View which does firmly what it says on the tin, offering the best views in the house overlooking the beautiful Watergate Bay.

Plus, DJs will be taking to the decks down at The Point; the ultimate clubbing destination at Boardmasters which comes with an eye-popping new design and will this year sit alongside Unleashed presented by Drip for the unmissable after hours hot spot.

From the Keg & Pastonbury, The Boulevard, and daily Beach Cleans to Street Food, Pub Quizzes, Surf Screenings, Bingo, Karaoke, and Family Fun, there’s an abundance of options of day to night activities. Stay tuned for more surprises yet to be revealed.
