An opera singer has died suddenly of unknown causes aged 22.
Sergio Vallejo’s untimely passing was announced by the opera company he toured with.
In an online statement, the Saltillo Opera Company said they were “filled with pain over the death of the very young and brilliant Sergio Vallejo”.

The company, based in Saltillo, near Monterrey in Mexico, said Vallejo was an artist who “made every place he visited shine with his voice and personality”.
The statement added: “His presence has today become eternal, projecting its radiance to infinity.
“Rest in peace, Checo, there in the confines of music, lulled by the universal melody.”
He passed away after taking part in a rehearsal in Monterrey last week.
The young tenor’s sudden death was also announced by the Council for Culture and the Arts of Nuevo León (Conarte), as reported by Need to Know.
The organisation said on Facebook: “Conarte and the music community deeply regret the passing of Sergio Vallejo, a young promise on the north-eastern music scene.
“The tenor who was part of the Mexico Opera Studio and we were recently able to enjoy his talents along with the mezzo-soprano Daniela Cortés and master pianist Elda Nelly Treviño.
“We send our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
There have been no further updates on the cause of Vallejo’s death.
