A bullet has ‘miraculously’ lodged in a woman’s scalp after she was shot in the head during a road rage row.
Damariz Magalhães Chastinet Pinho was in the car with her husband and young son when the attack happened.
The family popped out for a snack when Damariz was shot in the head allegedly by an angry motorist.
They were travelling along the GO-060 highway between Goiânia and Trindade near the Brazilian capital, Brasília on Friday (13 Apr) evening.
An impatient motorist overtook them and then started braking in front of their vehicle.
Damariz’s husband, Marco Antônio de Souza, said: “I tried to go right, he cut right too. I went left and he went left as well.
“When I passed him, I could see him cursing me.
“I rolled down the window and said, ‘Are you crazy?’.
“When I drove away, I felt the impact of the shot.”
Damariz said: “I felt a blow to my head and immediately thought it was a gunshot.
“I told my husband, but he didn’t believe me as I was conscious the whole time.”
Marco said: “When I put my hand on her head, I could feel a lot of blood coming out, but I didn’t say anything to her.
“It looked like a scene from a horror movie.”
One image shows a bullet hole in the car’s window.
An X-ray scan shows the bullet lodged in the woman’s scalp.
Damariz said: “After the X-ray, everyone was amazed.
“It was truly a miracle.
“The bullet was in my head, but it didn’t hit my skull.”
Damariz underwent an operation over the weekend and has since returned home, as reported by Need to Know.
She said she was scared at the time, especially for her young son who was in the vehicle, but is grateful to be alive.
The alleged attack has been reported to the police.
At the time of writing, the shooter has not yet been identified.
