A mesh top dubbed a “giant thong” on social media has left fashion fans horrified.
Called the ‘Off Shoulder Mesh Underwear Top’ by the brand Zemeta, the tiny piece retails at $95 (£75).
The corset-style mesh bodysuit has bandeau-style off the shoulder sleeves, and then dips down to fasten at the crotch – with large panels of fabric missing on each side of the stomach.

The unusual style has X users dubbing it “wedgie chic”, as reported by Need To Know.
The description of the top on the brand’s site reads: “Iconic Mesh Underwear Off-shoulder bodysuit is a treasure piece that can be added to your special wardrobe.
“It can be worn on top of any mesh tops or even with bikinis in the summer.”
After pictures of the item were shared on X, garnering 3.9 million views and 54,000 likes, hundreds of viewers commented on the divisive top.
One person commented: “Fully body wedgie thong.”
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” said another viewer.
Someone else asked: “What occasion DOESN’T call for showing up dressed as a jockstrap?”
“Wedgies are in fashion??? God pls send ice age to us soon,” joked another critic.
Another user added: “Looks painful.”

But other shoppers weren’t quite so appalled – with a handful even keen to try it out themselves.
