A woman with a blocked nose was shocked to discover hundreds of maggots living up her nostrils.
The 59-year-old had complained of a stuffy nose and facial pain for over a week, reports Need To Know.
She initially believed it was due to breathing problems as a result of excess dust in the air.

But after suffering a nosebleed, the patient spotted dozens of tiny maggots coming out of her nose.
Immediately, she went to Nakornping Hospital, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand, for a checkup.
Dr. Pateemon Thanachaikhan studied the patient’s x-ray and noticed foreign bodies in the woman’s nostrils.
The medical team inserted an endoscope, where over 100 maggots were revealed, before being removed.
According to local reports, the woman’s condition dramatically improved after the procedure.
If left, the insects could have spread to nearby organs, such as the eyes or brain, causing disability and even death.
Allegedly, those in northern regions of the country, such as Chiang Mai, are more susceptible to respiratory illnesses, especially allergies and rhinitis.
