Less than a month after announcing his forthcoming album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” Eminem has unveiled that the first single, “Houdini,” will drop this Friday.
In an Instagram post, the rapper is seen FaceTiming with magician David Blaine, seeking assistance for a unique stunt.
“I was wondering, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do like a stunt or something?” Eminem asks. Blaine, sipping a glass of wine, then bites off the rim of the glass.

Em responds humorously, “Well for my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear,” before ending the call.
Details about Eminem’s 12th studio album are sparse. The rapper has only confirmed that it will be released this summer. “Houdini” will be the album’s first single, and a brief snippet of the instrumental can be heard at the end of the Instagram video.
Though Eminem has kept most information about “The Death of Slim Shady” under wraps, his longtime collaborator Dr. Dre shared some insights earlier this year.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in March, Dre mentioned that Eminem was working on new material and that he himself had contributed to several tracks.
He also noted that he planned to listen to the album for the first time the day after his TV appearance.
In April, Eminem announced “The Death of Slim Shady” with a teaser during the NFL Draft, styled as a segment from the Detroit Murder Files.
Earlier this month, he placed a mock obituary in the Detroit Free Press, symbolically bidding farewell to Slim Shady, his notorious alter ego.
