A young woman has been shot dead after reporting a plastic surgeon to the authorities over an alleged botched liposuction procedure.
Norma Ayala was gunned down in the street after leaving her home.
After reviewing their CCTV cameras, neighbours said the gunman waited for Ayala in a nearby alley for about an hour before she left her home.

At one point, another woman was seen approaching the suspect and he raised his gun before seeing her face and realising it wasn’t her.

He quickly lowered his weapon and allowed the woman to walk past.
Shortly afterwards, he identified Ayala, 30, as she left her home in Iztapalapa in the Mexican capital Mexico City.
He allegedly shot her twice in the head at around 6am on Tuesday (11 Jun).

One resident said: “The person who shot the woman was standing in Sixth Alley, he had been waiting there for around an hour.
“Beforehand, her neighbour walked past and he went to shoot her but when she turned around, he saw her face and hid the gun from her.
“Then the victim came and he shot her.”
According to her family, Ayala had recently filed a complaint against a plastic surgeon for performing an alleged botched liposuction procedure on her.

The unnamed surgeon allegedly threatened Ayala when she told him she was going to report him for malpractice, as reported by Need To Know.
The authorities have yet to confirm whether the shooting is related to the complaint she filed against the surgeon.
The police investigation is ongoing.
