A driver had a lucky escape when his car was skewered by a crash barrier.
The metal barrier went all the way through the vehicle.
It penetrated the bonnet, punched a huge hole through the windscreen, and even tore the back of the car off clean.

The accident happened when the driver, for reasons yet to be determined, lost control of the vehicle.
Luckily, he was alone in the car as the barrier pierced the passenger side and went all the way through the vehicle.

Incredibly, he emerged from the accident unharmed.
The car was a write-off, as reported on Need To Know.
The accident happened on the SS 133 road near Santa Teresa Gallura in Sardinia, Italy, on Tuesday (2 Jul).
Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the scene around 2pm.
It took the officers more than an hour to secure the area and clear it of debris before the road was reopened to traffic.
