A teenage singer cheated death after being involved in a seven-car pile-up and still made it to his gig in time.
Gabriela Abreu Severino – aka Melody – was travelling in a van when a coach rear-ended the vehicle.
The impact of the crash badly damaged the singer’s van and caused collisions between multiple other cars.

But the 17-year-old, her sister Bella and everyone else in the vehicle escaped with only minor injuries.
They even made it to the gig, as reported on Need To Know.
Melody was heading to Rio de Janeiro on Saturday (20 Jul) when the accident happened in Barra Mansa, on the outskirts of the city.
Carlos André Nogueira Fernandes of the Federal Highway Police said: “A little before the accident with Melody’s van, there had been another accident further ahead.
“This caused traffic to start backing up and becoming congested.
“The van ended up stopping in this traffic, and a coach coming from behind couldn’t stop in time and hit the rear of the van, pushing it into a lorry.
“Then, other vehicles also got involved in a pile-up, resulting in only material damage.”
Melody told the audience during the show: “We got hurt, but everyone is okay, thank God.
“Everyone here is injured, my hand is messed up, the girls have hurt legs, but we’re all soldiering on.”
She also told her 13.6million Instagram followers: “Thank God no one died, everyone is okay. I’m just having some back pain.”
Melody’s dad is “favela funk” rapper MC Belinho.
She won a Prêmio Jovem Brasileiro – Brazilian Youth Award – in 2015.
Her 2023 song ‘Love, Love’ with Naldo Benny and Matheus Alves has 49m views on YouTube.
