A Poundland store worker has been hailed for standing up to a shoplifter.
The brave employee spotted the crook with goods stuffed in his jacket.
He blocked him from leaving the budget shop chain at the front door.
They were then involved in a 30-second scuffle as a shocked customer watched on.

But, the hero shop worker managed to stop him from leaving with the stolen loot after they fell out of his jacket.
It happened at the Poundland branch in Westway Cross Shopping Park, Greenford, northwest London.
The courageous uniformed employee collared him and said: “Give me the stuff.
“Give me the stuff.”
He blocked his path and the would-be thief replied: “Stop pushing me.
“I haven’t got…”
“Stop it.
‘I haven’t got anything.”
But the persistent staff member said: “I can see…”
Five items then fell on the floor before the man fled.
It happened on Sunday (21 Jul), as reported on Need To Know.
Marc Lumley said: “Every store should have guys like this.
“Someone who has the balls to say ‘no’.”
Another, named Jo, added: “Well done that shop worker.”
Khalsa said: “Poundland give this man a pay rise.”
One said: “Well done, that guy should get a bonus.”
Wajahat Akram joked: “Imagine having to steal from Poundland.”
Another echoed this adding: “Imagine shoplifting from Poundland.”
The Met Police and Poundland have been approached for comment.
