One then clambered in before emerging with two heavy crates of the expensive food.
He slowly walked away on foot with his loot.
The other thief, also clad all in black, shoved goods in his bag.
The brazen theft happened yesterday (22 Jul) at 10am in Bow Common, east London.
Shocked locals were quick to poke fun at the duo, as reported on Need To Know.
Dorian Smith said: “That tapenade will come in handy.”
Colin White quipped: “Mad love for the quail eggs.”
One said: “There goes my lemon and poppy seed polenta cake.
Another added: “Wondered why they missed my 3pm slot.”
Brian Cobbold said: “Well perhaps the driver should have locked the door?”
The Met Police and Waitrose have been approached for comment.
