A man has shared how he’s earning up to £5,000 a month through an “easy” side gig – and it’s something others can do too.

Michail, 28, relocated from Greece to the UK with his wife and child in pursuit of better financial opportunities.

While he began his journey as an Amazon delivery driver, he continued to search for ways to increase his monthly earnings.

He experimented with various roles, from waiting tables and tending bar to working in a Greek-style kitchen, before discovering Airtasker, a marketplace for services.

Now, Michail is bringing in an additional £5,000 a month by helping people move homes, all while still enjoying quality time with his family.

“I have the freedom to choose when to work, as I’m the boss,” Michail, who resides in Rainham, East London, shared with Absolutely Business.

“We enjoy going out to the countryside, visiting friends, going to the cinema, and much more.

“If there’s something we really want to do, we do it.

“Having this flexibility really makes a difference.

“When I compare the hours I spend working for Amazon and Airtasker, the income I make from this side hustle is three times more.”

Michail used to spend his summers working as a bartender and receptionist before making the move to the UK in 2019.

With seven years of experience as a courier, a local suggested he try using the outsourcing platform.

He began by taking on smaller jobs, like moving furniture, earning between £60 and £100 per task.

As he accumulated glowing five-star reviews, he was able to take on larger jobs and increase his earnings.

Michail’s story emerges as Airtasker reports that August is the busiest month for Britons moving homes.

With demand for his services peaking, he often puts in up to six extra hours a day to keep up with the workload.

He added, “I enjoy chatting with people and I prefer working as a removal man.

“I started by helping friends move in the past, and my experience grew from there.

“No job is too small, and every task is valuable; it’s definitely worth considering if you have the skills and free time.

“Focus on a particular area because customers want to see that you’re an expert with good reviews.

“That way, you’ll get accepted quickly and start making really good money.”
